Volunteer Opportunities on the Town of Los Altos Hills'
Standing Committees


The Town of Los Altos Hills depends on its volunteer citizens. There are many opportunities to contribute to its direction and vision and to make the Town the best it can be for all who call it home. Over 120 residents are members of the Town's advisory committees. You can make a difference by volunteering to become a valuable member of one of these committees, where you can meet fellow residents and support the Town with your participation, input and experience.  Play an active role in determining the future of your Town!

Notice of openings on committees are posted and published on the Town's website, through email blasts, and periodically advertised in the local newspapers. 

Applications can be downloaded and submitted as a PDF, or submitted online. Please submit applications to the City Clerk’s office. The City Council will  review the applications and make appointments at scheduled city council meetings held at the Council Chambers, City Hall., 26379 Fremont Road, Los Altos Hills, California.


The current committees have openings:
 
COMMUNITY RELATIONS - 2 vacancies
Meetings: 4th Tuesday/month; 7:30 PM


The committee organized the annual town picnic and other town sponsored events. It welcomes new residents, and encourages communications and participation between residents and Town government.

EDUCATION - 4 vacancies
Meetings: 2nd Wednesday/month; 7:00 PM


The committee promotes public education, acts as a source of information regarding choices in education. It monitors LAH school attendance at public and private schools.

EMERGENCY COMMUNICATIONS - 15 vacancies
Meetings: 1st Tuesday/month; 7:00 PM


The committee provides emergency radio communications service using ham radio, participates in disaster communication drills. It maintains radio equipment and updates for the Town.

ENVIRONMENTAL INITIATIVES - 4 vacancies
Meetings: 1st Thursday/month; 6:30 PM


This committee assists in the development and refinement of the Council's Environmental Strategic Goal and recommends initiatives to achieve them.

PARKS AND RECREATION - 3 vacancies
Meetings: 3rd Monday/month; 5:30 PM


This committee advises the Council on matters relating to recreational programs and activities for preschool, youth, teens, adults and seniors of the Town.

PUBLIC ART- 2 vacancies
Meetings: 2nd Monday/month; 7:00 PM


This committee accepts and coordinates art and donations from residents to be displayed on Town properties, after approval from Council.
